This is the E-Flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m BNF Basic with AS3X and SAFE Select “Cripes A’Mighty 3rd” RC airplane warbird. This warbird looks amazing and we love the 1.2m size as it is perfect and easy to fit into our vehicle. In this video, we take this rc plane out again and keep loving it more and more! We had so much fun on the maiden flight Of this brand new P-51 by E flight I Thought we'd get out and fly it again But this time we're going to mix things Up just a little bit I wanted to show You guys how easy these drop tanks were To go on and off of the airplane and We're going to fly it with these off the Maiden flight they were on we had a Great time it flew extremely well but it Might have extremely different flying Tendencies without those and I think I'm Going to do this whole flight without Safe we used a little safe on the maiden Flight so a couple different things to Mix the flight up but really we're all Here just to enjoy and drool over this Brand new plane and have little fun so Let's put it in the air and uh Can I fly not scale is that okay with You guys just a little bit Safe is off we're just going to keep it That way for the whole flight I think And I think for this takeoff we'll do a Little half flap action and see how that Does so we're really mixing things up a Little bit more on this flight I try to You know if I was just a normal person And didn't make videos on YouTube I'd Probably have like 10 more flights on it Before I tried to mix things up but here We go this is the power of YouTube Right right Rudder come on baby oh no no No no I saved it do you guys see that
Please don't hit me oh did you see that I did not have a prop strike that was Insane wow wow wake up wow my heart's Really beating that was crazy to avoid a Prop strike like that and your wife wow Wow wow and my wife I would I was gonna I jumped out in front of you it's okay There have been times okay so we're Gonna need a little more right Rudder And it's just a matter of timing like When there right when that tail lifts up That's when you go right rudder Throttle up we're gonna kill that flap That was a much better take off than the Maiden and definitely a better take off Than the non takeoff at the beginning of This video we're gonna put the landing Gear up on this pass so Abby get a nice Shot now she says Oh it's beautiful it goes up so fast It's easy to film yeah it's a quick one Sometimes landing gear goes up really Slow on planes and then you've got like The the doors you know but these these React pretty quickly but still look good One kind of goes up right before the Other you know what down Oh yeah that's nice okay doing the Landing gear dance So what were we saying about keeping it Scaled versus not scale you know what It's a P51 I'll do my best to keep it as Scale as I can What are you afraid what now I said what
Are you afraid I mean it's the second flight I don't Want to overdo it And I'm afraid of the comments you know That's it in the comments I'm really Afraid of the comments Inverted show Pasco nope nope nope nope You know what happens when we try that They don't come back can't do it Probably can that's gonna need some more Practice in building of the confidence It's been cold we've been sick off and On all kinds of problems have kept us From actually being out flying and I Know I'm surprised people haven't called Us out on this but like let's just talk About one of the last videos that have Been released on the channel it was all Green on the leaves green grass bright Blue sky like guys we just had zero Degrees weather why is no one Questioning that video was recorded you Know a couple months ago Abby and I were Trying to bank some videos when this Baby was born we didn't get a maternity Maternity leave with a million when Amelia was born we had I would like Three days three days off because we're In the hospital in the hospital when we Got home like the very next day we were Out filming uh which is fine not Complaining yeah but it would be nice to Take a little break serious C-section Mama it's kind of a big it was hard on
Abby so we're trying really hard to get Ahead and then we get sickness which Everyone has had to deal with oh that Looked pretty it under the hill didn't It so bad this year and it's it's been Burning through our videos so one day We'll be out in like 10 degree weather And everyone's like yeah we got cold Weather too and then the next day I'm Wearing a Bahama Mama shirt and uh you Know it's warm and the green the grass Is green the trees have green leaves on Them the sky is bright and blue and and No one questions it they're just like Okay normal RC Sailors I hate you guys Because you have perfect leather year Round normally we're filming basically Real time but in this case with the Little baby on the way we were trying to Get ahead on content so anyway if you Guys like the Trojan or the Corsair by E-flight in this size you'll love this Plane maybe even more because this is Flying on Rails it is really nice Everybody is it is flying the way you Would hope and expect a P-51 to fly Super scale it's a nice size fits in the Trunk in one piece with the seats up I Mean I just can't say enough good about I wish the flight time was a little Longer but on a 2200 milliamp battery to Get a six minute flight time On a war bird I really cannot complain That's not bad at all our Maiden flight
That's what we got let's do a full Throttle pass where I'm quiet You really can't even hear this thing It's a very quiet efficient airplane The ESC does pulse when I get a low Voltage alarm so it goes hand in hand With that Nice and fast pass there and we can do a Little bit of unscale things we can snap It some but it's not a crazy stunt plane It's a war bird and if that was weird Uh-oh I heard well my prop was going in Reverse because of that dive at zero Throttle but it did sound funny and Weird and because of that we're going to Commit to a landing Safety First always But I think that was just a zero Throttle reverse prop on that dive so There's landing gear down looks good What we're going to do Abby you gotta Slow it down we're definitely gonna Crash try to land it this way which is My favorite favorable Direction anyway That last Landing was amazing I don't Know if I can beat it but we are going To try Way down over the runway don't want a Wingtip stall there you got to maintain Your throttle on warbirds through that Last bank Cross Breeze at about five miles an hour No flaps we're just bringing it in hot And then we're gonna go right Rudder Right Rudder right Rudder left Rudder
After it slows down that was a beautiful Landing wow that was just perfect That's about the best warbird landing I Maybe have ever had I don't know about That did have a bounce if I could do a Burnout on this I absolutely there was Not a bounce there was there they're Definitely listening uh we'll we'll Watch the replay we'll watch there is a Bounce And then we're going to go right Rudder Right Rudder right Rudder left Rudder After it slows down that was a beautiful Landing what would you do without me Pointing out all your mistakes I would Uh be a single man So 3.75 volts per cell on a four and a Half minute flight and I think that's Pretty consistent with the maiden flight Remember the maiden flight we had a six Minute flight and it was showing 3.6 Volts per cell uh so that tells me we Probably could have pushed another Minute out of that battery and then Probably been right around 3.6 volts Close to the same flight time I would Expect if anyone set a five minute drop Okay by the way that's why you landed You're funny that's fine my prop's fine It didn't strike no Oh so I guess that's why you leave no my Props fine what happened was I was Zero Throttle and instead of the prop Spinning I wasn't giving you a hard time
I thought you were no uh it went in the Reverse direction as it was diving down With zero throttle but you know what I Thought I heard I thought I heard like a Beep beep beep then you feel like I Didn't hear a beep I heard of it like She heard she heard it the prop was Spinning in reverse because it was Zero Throttle diving and then I throttled on And so it kind of sounds like gears Grinding or something that's fine okay You should address that you know the Dress what that happened because you Were like well we better land better Safe than sorry that's fine we're good No it's all good well I thought the Viewers would want to know we thought we Heard something we landed you know That's just check on it if I don't do That y'all let me know how wrong I was Even though there's people out there That are literally like shooting rockets At Giant things that shouldn't be RC if I if I have like a little dangly piece Of foam or grass or grab a blade of Grass on them you're destroying the Hobby should land anytime no okay it's Fine it's fine it's just literally Landed better safe than sorry This only come in blue I yeah I think it's just the one color Scheme it looks good variety is good What do you want another red P51 like Everybody else no I like the yellow I do
Like this Um it's interesting to have all of the Library on this side and it's clean on This side so if you need somewhere to Put your RC sailor stickers you've got Room on that side and we definitely need To start doing a lot more of that the Second flight was great I think it flew Really well without those uh fuel tanks On there but not a noticeable difference So I would say just fly it the way you Prefer the way it looks those tanks Could actually save your wing if you Came in on a really rough Landing or Something the wheels there's definitely Enough clearance that you could land and Take off from grass if you wanted even More you could just take off those side Panels the pants or skirts however you Want to say that you could take those Off and have a lot more clearance but Then it wouldn't look as good and clean With the retracts up so I'd leave that Up to you this is small enough and it Has a good enough hand hold you could Hand launch this too I would prefer to do it with help I Don't like to hand launch planes but if I had a buddy at the Airfield I would Absolutely feel comfortable launching Their plane like this and then you could Do uh you probably could do a belly Landing with that with the retracts up Abby's giving me the look but I think he
Could I think you're crazy you might Break your prop if you did that but you Could hand launch it good luck getting It back it's fun here we are at the Beginning of the year uh now the Maintenance already done so who knows When this video will come out but we're At the beginning of the year with a Brand new airplane and I think that's Awesome e-flight did a fantastic job you Need this in the fleet if you have the Trojan and the Corsair and it fits right In with them the right size and the the Flight performance is amazing and I Think what I was saying earlier before The prop thing is Set a five minute flight timer and I Think you'll be Rock Solid every single Time with a 4S 2200 milliamp you could Push it a little farther you might eat It up a little bit before that five Minutes if you're flying Full Throttle The whole time but five minutes should Be solid if you're not Full Throttle the Entire flight you know this only being My second Flight of the P51 I already Feel like a pro it flies extremely Predictably very scale and I'm really Happy flying this thing but one thing That helps boost my confidence is flying With AMA that's the Academy of model Aeronautics I know that if I didn't have Insurance while flying my confidence Wouldn't be there and the ability would
