Building Revell B-29 Superfortress. From Start to Finish. 1/48 Scale.

Hi, I'm QDC. What we're about to build today is Revell B-29 Superfortress. and this is in 1/48 scale. The reason why I bought this particular kit was because I had an opportunity to fly a real B-29 bomber and I had such a good time flying inside that B-29 that I just wanted to build a model kit of the plane I flew in and so what I want to do is before we start building this model kit I want to show you a small video of me
flying inside the B-29 and after that we are going to start building this model kit. If you're interested in seeing the entire video of me flying the B-29 then you're more than welcome to watch it
because it's on Youtube. Let's take a look at that video right now. Let's take a look inside this box. We have the propellers, wheels, wings and the more wings, bombs, fuselage, clear plastic parts, decal, and the instruction sheet.

I just finished construction of the
interior and looks pretty accurate. since I flew the real B-29, I know its accurate because I was
there. Here is the cockpit area it looks very
accurate. Very well detailed and Here is the tail section area. Very nice. I'm going to paint the interior and then continue on with the
construction. I just finished sanding the seam and also filled it with putty. By doing the sanding, I also sanded away the panel lines and
I need to re-scribe them. What I have in my hand is a pin vise and on the end of it is a ordinary sewing needle. Right over here is an old photo etched fret. What I'm going to do is that I'm going to use the old photo etched fret as a straight edge and place it where I want to have pannel lines.

Then using the Pin Vise, I carefully re-scribe the panel lines. I already done one right over here and done another one right
over here. Okay so we built the model kit and now it's
time for me to show you what I think about this kit so far. Take
a look. This is the completed model kit before painting and it did a very good job this model
kit. It's big as you can see and this is a very nice classic kit from 1977. The details are very nice and I recommend this model kit for all skill
levels but for those of you who are beginners and who want to make this model kit
exceptional, there are going to be a lot of sanding and a lot of
filling of the seams which you can see right here with
the white putty that I put on seams right here on the wings and
fuselage.

But other than that it's a very good model kit. It's time for me to paint the model. It's time for to paint the model. I already primed the entire model with a coat grey primer and now I'm going to use a can of
automotive spray paint in a chrome color to paint the entire
model. I'm going to give my model some color variations.

I masked the control surfaces and I'm going to give the control services and some panel lines a different silver color. I want to talk to your about the decal set that I'm going to use right now you're looking at the decal set supplied by the model kit. I have a choice between choosing a bomber called Humpin Honey or a bomber called Cream of the Crop. This one is from World War Two, this is from the Korean War.

I am NOT
going to use any of these two. I'm going to use an aftermarket product from Kits World and have a choice between United Notions
which is a Korean War bomber or a World War Two bomber called Joltin' Josie, The Pacific Pioneer. I want to choose this one and the reason why I bought this
particular decal set is that the girls look really cute and this one looks pretty sexy to me
so I'm going to use this one and here is the actual decal set itself highly detailed and well worth the money
to buy from this particular company. Okay so we built the model kit, we painted it and now it's time for me to show you the
entire model kit all finished up from the beginning to the
end. Take a look. This is the completed model kit and it as such a large model but I like it.

What I like about my work best is painting the entire model with the chrome color. Very nice
and adding the small details of painting
panels with the different color of chrome color
helps makes this model stand out a lot. I also like the aftermarket decal from Kits World. Very nice. It gives the model a very nice unique character. What I didn't like was the canopy. This canopy was warped so I had a hard time actually gluing it onto the fuselage but other
than that it's very nice model kit and I am very
satisfied with my work. Okay, so the model kit has been completed and what am I going to do with this huge
model kit? How am I going to display it? Well, have an idea. Take a look. Alright so I finally decided where to display model I decided hang my model on the wall right next to my work station
and it's real fitting place for me to actually displayed it.

To the right the bomber of the model airplane you
see two items and those are gifts, thank you gifts that
the Commemorative Air Force gave me after flew the airplane. They gave me a certificate and they also gave me a magazine of their
bomber. What you're about to see next is a video slideshow of the entire model project and I hope
this video encourage you to build a model kit of your own. I'm QDC. Thanks for watching!.
