[Music] hi I'm Audrey I would like to introduce a large capacity panel that I made instead of the solar panel included in the Horizon Fuel Cell Car Kit in the last video it took too long to make hydrogen by electrolyzing water with the solar panel included in the kit I will do a comparative experiment using a new solar panel to make hydrogen quickly and in the next video I'll get a theoretical reason why it takes so long with the included solar panel let's take a look at the experimental setup I will review the process of making hydrogen from solar panels so I prepared two solar panels an electrolyzer and hydrogen and oxygen tanks I prepared a new solar panel with nine solar panels and Horizons panel the rated input voltage of the electrolyzer the fuel cells that included in Horizons kit is about 3 volt so I connected nine solar panels with 3 volt 200 milliampere output in parallel a green LED is installed to check the power generation by the solar panel and the Vault meter is connected to the solar panel output terminal to measure the voltage I will tell you how to proceed with the experiment I connected the solar panel to an electrolyzer with hydrogen and oxygen tanks and conduct an electrolysis experiment by placing a solar panel so that it faces sunlight outdoors and a halogen lamp indoors I'll measure the voltage right after connecting the solar panel and the electrolyzer and after five minutes I'll measure the elapsed time until the level of the outside water rises by 5 milliliter and the hydrogen tank first I will tell you about the test results when Horizons panel faces the sunlight immediately after connection the charging voltage is about 0.9 volt and after 5 minutes the voltage Rises to about 1.6 volt it takes 3 minutes 50 seconds for the water level Ironside the hydrogen tank to rise by 5 millimeter [Music] second I faced the solar panel I made with real sunlight immediately after connection the charging voltage is about 1.8 volt [Music] [Music] bubbles are being generated inside the electrosis unit you can see the water change to hydrogen and oxygen after 1 minute and 30 seconds the voltage was consistently around 1.7 volt and the water level outside the hydrogen tank Rises by 10 milliliter by switching solar panels I can make hydrogen about five times faster third I faced the solar panel I made indoors with a halogen lamp [Music] immediately after connection the charging voltage is about 1.5 volt after 10 minutes the voltage was consistently around 1.5 foot and the water level outside the hydrogen tank Rises by 2 milliliter [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] these are summarized in the table below as you can see making hydrogen using Horizon's panel takes a very long time according to the manual I can see that if it takes too long to electrolyze water try connecting a battery instead of a solar panel in particular based on indoor testing the electrical energy generated by solar panels in the kit is too little to make hydrogen and results I tested the solar panel I made to face the sunlight and the voltage is relatively High when initially connected in first case raise the water level per second is 0.021 and second it is 0.11 and in third it is 0.0033 compared to the first case hydrogen could be produced about five times faster in the second and about 15 percent slower in the third using the solar panel I made I could quickly produce hydrogen when using sunlight and slowly when using a lamp indoors in the next video we will look closely at why charging takes a long time when the capacity is low and how the voltage and charging capacity change while charging Audrey Choi has spoken so far please look forward to the next video [Music] foreign
