Morning all decided to show you a couple we're
going to open a couple of boxes or show you something really spectacular so i'll start with
the Roden 1/144 scale B36B now the B model is the one that didn't have the jet engines it's
just the straight up six engine round prop tip props things like that this will be in store
in about three or four days it's literally just come in so i've just grabbed one off the top
nice box art nice kit two choices of markings so it's very quite good now there's been a lot of
discussion over comparing it to the old HobbyCraft kit well i can tell you it's not the HobbyCraft
kit copied or anything like that this is an all brand new much more detailed kit lots and
lots of things so first up that's the fuselage so you can see it's got cutouts for all
sorts of things the cutout for the wing for the blisters and everything else which was
not on the original HobbyCraft kit this is the detail is much much better how do i know that
because i do have one of the HobbyCraft kits this is much much nicer the detail is better it's
much finer all this sort of work is much better so it's a lot lot cleaner so you got that there's
your wings nice set of wings all well done up that's the uppers that's the lowers it's got all
the different bits and pieces on it that it should have there's been discussion over whether how the
wing will join to the fuselage from my initial look it looks like there's very little in the
way of the wing joint whereas on the hovercraft kit it's quite in depth or quite deep but this is
much much better so it'll be interesting to see how much further it replicates the kit that's your
clear parts you've got various ones there's two choices of canopies so obviously for the different
versions all the different clear parts turrets and everything else now this is your props this
is this is the rounded props from the B model it's got all these sort of things that's all your
guns guns and there's also turrets you can build this kit with the gun turrets open or closed in
all three or four positions undercarriage quite detailed again lots of bits and pieces that's
all your intakes the doors for the undercarriage these are all there's the actual in the
car which is way more detailed than the HobbyCraft kit so there's all the windows frames
and everything else you get another frame of so you get two frames of the props and everything
else obviously because you need six engines tail planes nicely detailed again it's got
all the right little bits and pieces on it i've seen a couple of people making comments
referring to the kit without actually seeing it yet this literally landed on as i said i
took it off the top of the box it was given to me on top of the boxes the other day so once i
can sit down and have a good look at it i'll give you a bit more in-depth detail instruction book
well this is literally a book this time there's lots to have a look at it's quite in depth as i
said far far more detail than the HobbyCraft kit so if you're looking for a decent B-36 i'm
sure they've got plans to do other versions of it as well the way the kit's set up so
they'll probably do the RBS and all sorts of things so there's all that sort of stuff in fact
if i have a look at the lower wing it may yeah if you have a look at the lower wing
there's the points for putting in the jet engines for later on so they've obviously
got plans to do more color chart for the two markings you've got the red tar ones and
a standard silver one so these are not the white one from later on and that's the decal
sheet it's quite extensive and it's quite big so it's quite you should have pretty well covered
everything you need to cover in the kit as i said i'm looking forward to building this because i
have built the hobby craft kit and i want to see the differences and i believe it's
quite quite a few major differences so that'll be in store in the next few days 95
dollars it's not cheap but for a decent B-36 kit and it's a reasonable size don't forget
that and there's a lot of detail and so 95 yeah you're gonna pay a little bit of
money for it but it's such a nice kit it should look good so i'll leave you with
