Take the suction cup with you! – No! Welcome to the new video! We continue on our double engine Motobecane Mobyx. And we turn it into a triple engine! Joe will do that for us. No, of course not. We're going to continue on this Mobilette part today. It really is a very special moped. Today we'll take a close look at it. In the last video we already tried to get it working.
It still smoked quite a bit from the cylinder head and exhaust. It's not all right yet. After all, we already have a spark. Even 2 sparks! – Right, that's even better. Now we remove the engine and cylinder heads to check everything. We want to know how much displacement is available. We also want to take a close look at the cylinder. There is an Airsal in it. First we need some clues. The goal is of course that this moped works! Because if it doesn't work, we don't even have to start with all that stuff. Joe is helping me with that today. First, let's take it apart. Heads down and go! Did I misunderstand something? We try to remove the engine mount first. It's actually the same motor as this one we took out on the Mobyx.
Not quite the same, but very similar. He has the same suspension with this spring. It is also a Variomatic. The engine also makes this way. When the Variomatic opens and the belt comes out , the motor comes closer and then moves away again. It's actually a very simple type of Variomatic. The structure of the motor is also very simple. The big difference lies in the diaphragm inlet.
The other motor is port controlled via the cylinder. I hope it's closed. A lot of sealant was used here everywhere. We simply trust Turkish craftsmanship. Let's hope it works. So first take it apart and remove the cylinder heads so that we know more about it. After we removed the axle, it is easy to see that everything is homemade. This is existing, this is where the side covers go. But this, the suspensions are all homemade. It also doesn't seem very stable anymore. Here you can see the spring holding the whole thing. This also seems pretty unusual to me. Actually, the spring would be hooked here, but it's somehow attached with a screw. We'll take that away now so we can check the engine. plastic flaps. We bought this moped with a very good description…. Among other things it said: "130 km/h ran". But I can hardly imagine that. Of course it would be totally awesome, but… We would be satisfied if it just ran smoothly. A moped with a double motor and a double membrane system – really cool.
What you can already say is that it definitely didn't work in this condition. I am now disassembling the carburetor. And you check the cylinder head. We really need new carburetors. Especially with a hand choke. Do you want to do another tinkering for the choke?? There are 2 distributors here. One cable for the gas and one for the decompressor. Actually, you could also do one for the cable choke. No! 2/46 and how much stroke do we have? We should measure that. I guess 40 strokes. I measure 41. It's about 70cc per cylinder. If we disassemble it now, there will be a total revision anyway. Now let's clean the part properly. We need a seal that we can adapt. We could change the holes in an existing seal. About as! Original double cylinder from Turkish manufacture. I would buy it! Everything is cleaned and new seals have been cut. It doesn't look too bad. We already checked the ignition, electronic with CDI, in the last video.
Now let's put it together and check if everything works. In the meantime we have discovered another problem. The cylinder heads are mounted, but the pistons rub. The problem is that it has a 46mm cylinder here. In addition, 40 mm cylinder heads are not necessarily ideal. They were customized, so we need to reuse them. It now needs a thicker seal. We have a 1mm gasket and a ca. 0.2/0.3mm gasket. Now it is also clear why the cylinder heads were not tightened. That's why it smoked. They weren't dressed because otherwise the butts would have lined up. Actually, it should be turned up here. We could use a 46mm drill! It's actually an O-ring seal. Here we could take some material. A pro would say that the combustion chamber is altered. I wanted to sound smart too! We're ending the video now because we need to order a grinder first.
Thanks Freddy for still not getting this done… …or we'll go to the shop and turn one out. It certainly makes more sense than using more seals here. Do you organize a grinder? I'll continue with the carburetor. Did you hear Joe's wife: He wants! – … again… We made the combustion chamber larger for the cylinder heads. It now rotates wonderfully, the pistons no longer touch. But have you already put it on properly? Try it. Yes, this one works. The problem is when we want to mount the second one. Now let's warm up with the Bunsen burner….. We need to take this part out. Take that or that away again. Then put it on here and completely rebuild it. Bending up was pretty cool though. Cast aluminum can be bent very easily . Up here on the cylinder heads, it would actually have to be changed. Here it also touches. A switch would also be cool if it suddenly started up. You never know! There are still great footrests here. – These are for the passenger.
It runs in. The ignition is attached, it was already working. There's fuel. Let's see if it smokes again. Let's try. Freddy, just film this point right here! Left turning with the drill is always shit anyway. I've heard professionals do it that way… is anyone looking in there? Who do you think?? Wild Roger has nothing to do! That's how you do it professionally! Running!!! Joe, really cool! Even the idle works. I really didn't expect that. Now he only has to run 130 km/h. – But after that it hasn't sounded. We'll try that in one of the 13,000 videos below. The thing works! And not bad at all! Even the idle worked! We have not yet said how many cc are present. You think it's probably 72cc. It has a 46mm bore and the stroke is approximately 40mm. This results in approx. 70 ccm per cylinder. So we would actually have 140cc. We'll see how we can get them on the road.
That will definitely be very exciting. You are welcome to write your opinions on this in the comments. What do you imagine? I would mount an Anaconda snakeskin saddle here and ride it into the sunset. What's certain is that we're going to get this thing running. There's nothing we can do about it at the moment. The pistons don't look very good. All of this needs to be checked in more detail. One after the other until we make it onto the street. We will definitely make it roadworthy. We hope you enjoyed it and leave a subscription and a like here. We need a name for this thing! We already have a flying fish and a praying mantis. But that doesn't look like anything right now. Maybe Elke without a bike? Help us find a name and write it in the comments. It is a Motobecane Mobylette with dual engines.
For today we stop. We did well. The hotpot at the top is filled with water and awaits us. Bye! Roger, is the water warm? – Yes, it's hot! Horny, Roger is hot! are you coming in too – No, we still have to make films!.
