DIY Install Pedal Covers Kit in Any Car | Easy & Quick | Real Review | – Autophile

Hey. This is Autophile. Today, I will show you how to install aftermarket custom pedal covers in car. I'm going to install this accessory in my Maruti Alto for the first time. I'm not sure whether this is compatible for Alto. So, lets go find out. Aftermarket pedal cover kits are available for around Rs.350-650 on amazon in different designs and colors. By installing pedal covers, the contact area of the pedal is increased and it also provides stylish appearance for the interior.

This accessory is universal, which means it can be installed in almost any car model. So this kit is for manual cars, and has 3 covers, one each for clutch, brake and accelerator pedals. In terms of material, these pedal covers consist of metal and plastic pieces. The kit also comes with set of clamps and nuts & bolts for installation. The installation is very simple. And it requires only a screwdriver. Each cover has 4 holes at the corners, in which the bolt goes from the top and the clamp is attached from below. Now this cover is ready for clutch pedal. Repeat the same process for brake and accelerator pedal covers. Next, place the cover over the pedal and set the clamps in proper position. Then tighten the bolts properly. On looking from below, the position of the clamps should be like this. Apply the same method to fit the covers on brake and accelerator pedals. Make sure that the covers are well fit and no clamp is loose.

So friends, now the installation of pedal covers is complete. One last thing, we need to press the accelerator pedal and verify that there is sufficient gap from the sidewall. If the gap is not sufficient, then adjust the cover as necessary. In small cars like Alto, because there is already less room available, the accelerator pedal will not function properly with the cover fitted. So for my satisfaction, I tried another pedal cover which has different design. But, even its accelerator pedal cover didn't fit properly.

So friends, I now know that this accessory is not compatible for Alto. Finally, I would like to share an important message for viewers. A car's pedal system is very critical. There is much risk involved in modifying the pedals. Aftermarket pedal covers may affect car's normal performance. While driving, these covers could interfere with the floor mats and its possible that the covers might become loose. If this happens, it will distract the driver and may lead to accident. That's why, I shall not recommend this accessory especially in budget cars which already have compromised safety standards. Ultimately, choice is yours. So that's it for now. Thanks for watching this video and stay tuned for more..
