Hello, everybody. This is Helen from Helen's Heart Creations and welcome to my studio. I'm quite this because I've just, I've been trying to figure out how to use Zoom, have my crafting stuff that I want to show you here and a little window with me in it up at the top. So, I'm very thrilled that uh I think I think I've been successful, certainly successful enough to give it a go. Um so, I'm sure I'll learn as I go along. I thought would do is a series on crafting kits. I returned to England from Canada uh two or 3 years ago now and about 9 months ago, I realized that one of the things I missed was my stamping up paper pumpkin uh paper crafting kit that I used to receive every month and you can't get them here in the Uk.
So, I've decided to search for what ones were available in the UK. Um my intention of the series is to share in each video one of the kits that I have found and exploring and have enjoyed it or perhaps are uh just I'm on YouTube. I'm just trying out and I've uh most of them are available in the UK but I've actually begun to explore kits that are not based in the UK but are still available to people in the UK and the postage and the the currency exchange is not crazy and ridiculous.
So, I think I just have one at the moment but uh anyway, so I thought I would start with the one that I started with which is Tonic Craft Kit. So, Tonic Craft Kit is a monthly subscription. They reveal the kit on the twentieth of the month and then it's just uh you'll build on the first of the month and then it's and then it's uh shipped out and it's delivered in a few days. They are in Wales. So, I still available in the UK not just in England but um so it's yeah they shipped from Wales and Room 48 hours. It's uh it's a very quick delivery. So, the the kit is the same format each month with a different theme. So, what do I like about the kits? Well, the components of the kits are it comes the first part of it is the coordinating dice set and stamp set and this month, which is the July month, it's called Serendipitous Press Box. and this is the the gift box that it makes but of course, all the components can be used to make all sorts of things.
Cards, uh wall art, whatever tags, whatever it is that uh that your heart desires really and so there's plenty of creative inspiration to get you started online on YouTube, and with people who do that, there is also a list of everything that is in your kit and as you can see, it's just like it, I'm not even opened it but these are the dice. This is very typical of uh Tonic Studios. They a that it's a gift box. They're not everything's gift boxes but a lot of this stuff is threed and um They have these what they call these Versace which will cut a design into the paper and you can leave it like that. Use use the the negative space so to speak and or you can see here, there's an outline dye and that outlined dye and then cut that out as a piece of an element and to put on the the front of the box in this case or on a card if you're using it for a card.
So, each month, you get a folder like this and Yes. And then you get a binder every 3 months That will hold three of them and then so that was the that's the you like it but it all how it comes is it it just it comes all packaged in a box. Let's go around. It comes packaged in this cardboard box. The other piece that you get. is a selection of Nuvo products. So, these are products from the this is also Tonic Studios, The Nuvo line comes in a little bag paper bag here. So, packaging is not too extravagant and this was one of the reasons that I wanted to get the kit and I'm just, I don't know why that's so So, a little focus there. I'm not quite sure what's going on there. Anyway, um so um They say you should use a phone for your webcam because it's a better quality.
I'm not so sure about that but anyway, um yeah, it looks like it's back in focus. The so one of the reasons II did start getting the kit was because you've got these samples of their products and you know, it it's it was a great way to get a sample that you can just try and have to go in and choose try it out. So, um uh This particular month's kit, the first thing you get is is uh a tape runner and I actually really do like tape tape runners. So, I'm quite pleased to see that in there. I think that's the second time I've had one in there and they have these acrylic mediums that they that they put out and this one is glimmer paste so, you can use it through a stencil or you can just use it to uh spread on paper to color the color, the change, the color of the paper and you can use it as a sort of a shimmer.
All kinds of ways of using glimmer paste. Um These are the drops and these these particular ones are crystal drops. You can use these. I wonder if I've got a piece of paper somewhere. and but um if you just drop them out, you get it's a fine tip. So, you just you can make them different sizes but you just get a little beads that will dry hard. So, if you don't have lots of embellishments, you can have these um and then mix up the sizes and the different colors and things but you can also use this as an acrylic medium to spread through a stencil or just a color the card or the paper that you're using. Then, this is my mist. So, it's a shimmery spray and this and this are sample sizes. So, if you buy them from there from this from stock, then you get a larger package of it but this is this is a full size.
So, you get a mix of samples and full size. This is a Morita marker pen and um again, III find that their products to be good quality. So, it's it's fun. I like getting one but I just sort of I get to try it where I might not actually pick it to try it and you know, especially with things like this because I've never been a great one for for sequence. I wouldn't be my go to but um II do rather I do rather like this. So, yeah, I'd rather glad to be getting things like this some some colors like this spring roses are actually exclusive to the kids. So, this color is not available from their regular product product line.
So, so that's the next component. So, the first is is the stamp and die set and it's components of the kit are the mediums and then you get the papers and I'm just trying to figure out how to do this at the moment here. Clear my space. It's to my left which is not natural to me. So, the wires everywhere which is why I have to be this way around the other way around.
First of all, which was much easier for me much better but um fortunately II needed The wireless connection wasn't uh stable enough. So I had to come with a wide connection. So, this is the paper selection that you get and it's really I mean, it's extensive. It's color coordinated, and it's a variety of different papers that they do so they can sell and and the thing is that uh one of the things that all kids do is they sample the products because the company wants to sell more of them and and they they do this really well but you don't need to, you know, you can build your stash from just a cat.
So, if you're limited budget or it way of sort of containing the budget. Um it's just it's thirty pounds a month and you know that if you're really good and I'm not I'm not really good. You think that's when you stop and you work with what you have which is also a good creative technique too. As you can see, they're coordinating colors and there are variety of the different papers that they do.
So, this is me. In fact, it might be iridescent me if it's it doesn't make these ones very much but um it uh This is a lovely iridescent sheen to it and I'm going to put that underneath it. So, as I said, the camera doesn't feel like it and so then we've got what we got here Oh, we have got this one is, I think this is what they they call specialty card. So, kind of embossed colored card. It is single sided and I must say, I do appreciate single sided cards often because it means that you're not trying to um figure out which side you prefer and you've got to sort of at least one side that um so sign. The papers are lovely and have their place and you can use them double sided but I can't see sizes. It's easier This is a cotton paper.
I think this is 150 Gm. It's quite flimsy um and I must say I haven't really figured out the best way of using this. I haven't particularly creative with it but um it is absolutely beautiful and they they come with different designs on the embossed internet. This is foiled craft card. They do a lot of writing this and this kind of a bronze, I suppose. Um this is what they call the classic card and it has a linen finish. I think it's about 2:25 PM a good mix.
Good um card. fronts. glitter card and no shed at all. No shed and just beautiful colors. we have and this is the smooth card which is 300 GSM. Good for making their boxes good for Yeah. Good for making the boxes. good for um card basis and things like that and here this blue is also classic card which means it has that line finish. I don't know how well the camera actually picks that up but here's another one. This is also the that linen finish of the classic car and then back to the iridescent card. So, um I've been getting the tonic craft card now for craft kit.
Now, for about as I said about 9 months and I, it's a my description. You can skip the month which I've actually done in July because they they they launched it on the twentieth of the month. So, I it didn't really appeal to me and I thought I'm going to uh I'm going to skip this one. So, so that's uh that's another nice feature of cats.
You you usually you can you can skip them. The other thing that I it's been a way for me to play with and discover uses for the new products that the mediums that the embellishments, the sprays, and the pens and as I said, I really do like them and they're on a tape. It's really good and I think that's everything in the box, isn't it? Except that of course, I suppose for many people, the main part of it is the stamp set on each one is something different and of course, you don't have to use the colors in the kit. You know, you can use any paper whatsoever and use your own coordination and they tell you the other products that they have as well as marketers do The other thing too is um if you have If you do subscribe to the tonic craft kit, then you get 10% off and I've just noticed in any order that you that you do, just notice that for their birthday. So, they're actually getting 20% off with the tonic craft kit subscription. However, the warning is that with Tonic, often the price they charge directly from their website is more than other people charged and sometimes quite significantly more.
So, you do need to check whether you're a candidate is actually the best way to go. They um it here. is accessible as crafty flare, and craft stash to the people who do tonic um tonic studios products. as well.
