Hello! it's been a long journey to finish another Porsche model kit but finallyĀ it's over and I'm able to present you Porsche 917k from Fujimi the winner at the Le Mans inĀ 1971 The car itself is the 70s legendaryĀ racing car developed as Porsche 908 was not ableĀ to surpass the Ford GT40 It is equipped with 4.5 liter horizontal V12 cylinder engine and it hasĀ a specially built lighter magnesium tube frameĀ Ā chassis whereas all the other 917Ks had anĀ aluminum one. If it comes to the body the carĀ Ā has vertical fins and two air boxes on the tailĀ section for a better aerodynamics and cooling as a result the 'finned' 917Ks were faster than theĀ 1970 versions and Porsche became the champion atĀ Ā the international manufacturers championship.
K stands for Kurzheck which means a shortĀ Ā tail which was evolved with the racetrack withĀ gaffer tape and aluminum sheet as the initialĀ Ā 917s aerodynamics made it nearly undrivable atĀ higher speeds by the way the long tail versionĀ Ā had a maximum measured top speed of 386 km/h (240 mph)Ā Ā Ok! so now about the model kit. Honestly it was theĀ worst model that I have ever built I know thatĀ Ā I haven't made them a lot but number of crookedĀ
parts or the ones which just didn't fit wereĀ Ā huge. Experience modeller for sure would have doneĀ
it much much better but torn decals and theĀ Ā front hatch looking like a tank hatch….this kitĀ just went wrong š Nevertheless I didn't throw itĀ Ā to the bin and decided to make a video out ofĀ my not so good work I wouldn't recommend thisĀ Ā kit to beginners but everyone who would like toĀ find the limits of patience just feel free toĀ Ā buy it! š Is there any model kit which challenged you so much that you wanted to throw it outĀ Ā share your story in the comments! Enjoy theĀ video! Thanks a lot for every like given ! š cheers!
