[Review] 30A Brushed ESC for Small RC Car

I have been looking for a good small brushed ESC for quite some time now and the answer has been right under my nose all along. Here it is. This is 30A ESC from Banggood and it is really good. It costs a little more than I usually paid for this kind of small ESC. And you’ll notice that it doesn’t look anything like the photos on the website. I also freaked out as well when I got it because I already have one that look exactly like this and it is absolute rubbish. However this one is labelled v2.0 and I can assure you it is totally different. Before using it you might want to change the motor plug. I’m using it with WLtoys K989 so the plug is JST-XH 2.5mm 2 pins. The installation is simple. Plug this wire in to the channel 2 of your receiver. And plug the motor in. Now turn on the transmitter and the car and check if the throttle works correctly.

You should be able to go forward-brake-reverse. If not, reverse the throttle channel. Now check if the car runs in the correct direction. If not, swap the motor wires. This ESC blinks when the throttle is in neutral, so don’t worry about it. Here you’ll see that it’s smooth all the way from low rev to top speed. BEC output is exactly 5V. The only thing it doesn’t have is low voltage cut-off. So you’ll have to use a Lipo alarm like this or check it the battery voltage regularly. And that’s it for this video. Thanks for watching and see you again next time..
