Вертолет КА-50 Черная Акула. Никогда не берись за эту модель

Hello, today I am building a Ka-50 helicopter model – a black shark. This is a very old model, so I had to tinker with it. In this video you will find out why the Russian army needs two identical helicopters, what kind of helicopters there are, you will find out all the hot news of modeling and of course how I built this rotorcraft. My name is Dasha, you are on the Dasha Models channel. Here I build models. The assembly of this model did not take me much time, there are few details here, and the most important of them are the two halves of the fuselage.

The model is quite old, the pedigree of this model begins in 2006, and at that time the design and casting technologies were not as perfect as they are now. Before the main painting, I primed the model with a gray primer from Ammo. On the primed surface I will paint over the crew workplace . I will cover the seat and dashboard in black. I won't spend much time here, because the model is in small 72nd scale and you won't see much through the lantern, unlike similar models in 48th scale. For example, in my recent construction of the Mi-24 helicopter, I worked out the cockpit in some detail. And even put the crew in the cockpit. But it was 48 scale and there is where to play.

Before applying the base color, I will cover the transparent parts of the lantern with masks so as not to stain them. I bought masks ready-made from SX-art. But for this model, masks can be made from ordinary modeling tape. So the cover of the lantern has simple planes, in contrast to the same Mi-24 with its surroundings, an openwork veranda. And I bought masks in a model shop, where, in addition to paints and models, you can find interesting additions that will make it easier for you to work on your models. Masks, photo etching, resin additions and of course a mountain of all kinds of models. For your first order, use this promotional code and you will get a discount of up to 500 rubles. The link and promo code is in the description below the video.

This fall has been very helicopter for me. A video has already been released on my channel about the construction of a huge copy of the Mi-24 attack helicopter in 48 scale from the time of the war in Afghanistan. This video has already been rated by 140,000 people! So watch it on my channel, I haven't had time yet. A few years ago, I built a couple of rotorcraft from Mil Design Bureau – these are the Mi-28 and Mi-8. By the way, inside the latter, I managed to sit in the troop compartment in the Patriot Park Museum. True, the lighting in that turntable was like in a nightclub , which somewhat distorted the impression of this car. And now it's time to assemble a model of the Ka-50 helicopter.

This is a very old model from Zvezda. And I understand why many speak negatively about the quality of the models of this company. To evaluate real cases, I advise you to take on new products from this company. And the guys from Lobnya keep this helicopter on sale because of demand. People take it, so why do anything with it. I really hope that Zvezda will re-release the Ka-50 model in 72 and take up the model in 48. So if you want to take a break from modeling, then I do not recommend this model. It is worth taking on only if you really really want to build a model of this particular helicopter. There is also an alternative in the form of a model from a modeler company. But she's not much better. It's funny that the guys from Lobnya could not agree on licenses with the Kamov Design Bureau and the box does not say Ka-50, but only the nickname of this helicopter – Black Shark.

Now the most interesting part of the work on the ka-50 helicopter model has begun – applying the main color. Aviation is difficult to paint because of its color variety. In particular, for domestic aviation, the coloring of the lower plane in sky blue is characteristic, and the upper part is painted in camouflage. So here I will first paint the lower surfaces of the helicopter in the so-called aviation blue color from the pacific88 aero series. I just paint the bottom part in this color without much artistic technique. After the base is dry, I start applying masks to paint the rotorcraft in the base color. I will have a black shark in camouflage. You can often see this helicopter in two main color schemes – black – which is how it got its nickname and in camouflage, as I will do. For masks, I use the classic Machete modeling tape, which you can buy in different sizes in the model shop.

And the adhesive tape on this model will take a lot. Since I will be painting the black shark in camouflage. After all the masks are well glued, I start painting the helicopter in the main color. The basis here will be sand paint with a small addition of ocher color. In this work, I use paints from pacific88, the aero series. For an airbrush, it does not need to be diluted, just shake it up and you can immediately pour it into the airbrush and apply it to the model. As a main airbrush, I use a Machete 1020, which I found at a prayer shop. This is a cheap airbrush, but for modeling it is perfect for a beginner and even an experienced modeller. It's time for the helicopter theory. Please like and comment if you like my thoughts. If we take a look at the Ka-50 helicopter, then there will immediately be a feeling of deja vu. It is very similar in concept to the Mi-28 helicopter from the competing Mil Design Bureau. This is two attack helicopters with a similar set of weapons and similar combat missions. The only thing that distinguishes them is the number of crew members.

The Mi-28 has two of them, the Ka-50 has a pilot responsible for controlling the helicopter and for engaging the enemy with fire. There are pros and cons here. By the way, in the future, the Kamov Design Bureau redesigned the Ka-50 into a two-seat version of the Ka-52. The funny thing is that the conversion from the Ka-50 to the Ka-52 was relatively easy. In fact, the nose of the Ka-50 was bitten off approximately in front of the engines and a wider cabin was inserted. But back to the comparison of the Ka-50 and Mi-28.

These helicopters are the brightest representatives of their schools. Let me remind you that in the Soviet Union and in modern Russia there are two companies that design helicopters – Kamov and Mil. Both design bureaus are named after their first general designers. It is easy to distinguish the helicopters of these design bureaus. Helicopters from Kamov fly thanks to two coaxial propellers, while Mil products have one carrier and the second tail. Why does a helicopter need two propellers? The fact is that if the device had one, then the rotating rotor would tend to spin the helicopter fuselage in the opposite direction – to eliminate this phenomenon, the tail rotor installed vertically on the tail boom is intended . To drive the tail rotor, you need a shaft that goes almost through the entire fuselage of the car, which adds weight, and if it hits the shaft, the helicopter becomes uncontrollable. Helicopters of the Kamov Design Bureau, as a rule, do not use a rear propeller scheme, but use a coaxial propeller scheme. That is, two propellers rise above the fuselage, rotating in opposite directions.

Thereby extinguishing reactive forces. Then the question arises about the synchronization of the screws. Which scheme is the best? It is difficult to say in both of them there are compromises that designers have to decide. I hope it became clearer to you why seemingly identical helicopters are so different in appearance. And if you have something to add to my story, then I'm waiting for you in the comments. After the black shark was painted in the main sand color, I began to apply tape masks again to apply camouflage. This is a rather dreary process, and it will be necessary to somehow try to apply other methods of applying camouflage. I apply the first camouflage shade – it is a gray-green color. I did not use green in its purest form, as I was afraid that it would be too bright. And such a gray green khaki, that's what it says on the jar from Pacific, is perfect for my purpose. While the endless slots of paint were drying, I casually assembled the main rotor.

More precisely, two screws and began to paint them in the base black color. I'll just apply black paint from Jim scale from an airbrush . I masked the unfortunate black shark again for the final camo color, black. And on this work with the airbrush can be completed. Yes, and I translated a decent amount of scotch tape. The Ka-50 helicopter, although it was produced in a very small series of only 15 copies, managed to become a milestone in the history of the domestic helicopter industry. He did not become a legendary weapon, but gave way to life for a more successful twin Ka-52. What ruined such a seemingly promising car? Ruined her concept and time. The helicopter was created in the late 80s, in the era of perestroika.

The domestic defense industry was also rebuilt. In the days of the young Russian democracy represented by Comrade Yeltsin, almost all defense enterprises tried to survive and preserve the design school and unique teams that would be very useful thirty years later. Some of the defense industry enterprises began to produce pots instead of shells, while others tried to sell their unique products to India or China. The Kamov Design Bureau was trying to survive thanks to its new attack helicopter.

Spontaneous marketing in the form of the film Black Shark, where the helicopter played the main role, also helped in the promotion of the rotorcraft and the computer game of the same name. The life of the helicopter was also influenced by its concept – a single-seat attack helicopter. The pilot was supposed to control the car in the air and be responsible for armament. And for aiming weapons it was supposed to use a special target designator helicopter. But thanks to the restructuring, the design of such a machine stalled. And the engineers of the Kamov Design Bureau decided to follow the path of their competitors from the Mil Design Bureau. Make a two-seat attack helicopter. The Mi-28 has a tandem crew layout – one behind the other, as in its predecessor Mi-24. This layout of the helicopter reduces drag, but the crew does not have visual contact with each other, and in the event of a pilot failure, the operator could not take control in time and make an emergency landing of the car.

Yes, the weapons operator has rudimentary control levers . Kamovtsy decided to make a cockpit with the crew positioned shoulder to shoulder, as in a car, and in theory this should increase the survivability of the helicopter. Thus, with the help of a simple alteration of the cabin from a single to a double, the Ka-52 helicopter turned out, which became one of the main ones in the Russian army. That is, a black shark gave birth to an alligator. Here is such a pun. Interesting helicopter facts. Ka 50 After the action movie "Black Shark", which was successfully shown on the screens, this name was assigned to the Ka-50, where this helicopter was filmed in the title role, which subsequently successfully operated as part of a combat group in Chechnya. Testing the survivability of the car, the test pilots shot off the tail, but the car continued to fly, maintaining stability and landing.

This, by the way, is about the concept of a helicopter with a tail rotor. The Ka-50 uses an automated system that, in the event of an injury or death of a pilot, returns the helicopter in the “autopilot” mode to the departure airfield on its own. So it seems to be such an ordinary car, but how many interesting concepts are embedded in it. And the coolest part of working on this model is I'm taking off all those paint masks.

This is a very meditative process, and the coolest thing is that at this moment I see for the first time how I got a helicopter. Agree in this process there is something creative. In the meantime, I'm working on a helicopter model – I want to advise you to subscribe to my telegram channel, where you can quickly track all new videos. I also have a zen channel where new content is released every day about modeling and technology on a 1 to 1 scale. And if you like my work, you can support me through the sponsorship function on YouTube or in my VK group . All links will be in the description. Handmade time. I will paint the chassis wheels so that I can put them on the finished model in a painted form. I will also work on the screw group. I will paint the screw assemblies in the appropriate colors. To do this, I use brushes from MiniWarPaint and paints from ICM.

And a little furious work – I will paint the edges of the helicopter blades white. There are already six of them, blades. Washing or washing should help me make the gunship more interesting by highlighting the terrain. I made the wash myself from white spirit and dark brown oil paint. Due to the very fine pigment, the spill perfectly flows into all the recesses and crevices of the model. I could not achieve such a cool effect using ready-made washes. And I wipe the wash with a cloth dipped in white spirit and thanks to this tactic, the wash itself remains in the depth of the model relief, and it is easily removed from the surface. I'll transfer the decals. The largest of them are red stars and side numbers. Although this set was not the highest quality, the decals in it are relatively good.

The time has come for modeling news and now I will tell you what interesting things happened in the world of modeling and in my modeling activities. The other day I visited an exhibition of railway modeling at the Special Purpose Garage Museum at VDNKh in Moscow. The exhibition featured several existing models of railways. Also at the exhibition it was possible to see a small exposition of bench models. In general, I liked the exhibition and it is noteworthy that such an event is held in a landmark place for Muscovites – at VDNKh, so anyone can visit it. I am far from railway modeling, so some concepts are not entirely clear to me. Many of the exhibits I would like to give a little life and volume in the form of weathering and other artistic elements.

Apparently, the emphasis in this type of modeling is on the technical side of creativity. The exhibition will run until November 4th. I continue to work on a new KAMAZ from the Zvezda company and have already begun to paint it. To do this, I use paints from Jim scale from a special kit for painting KAMAZ. And you know, I am amazed at the quality of these paints. They just fit perfectly on plastic without primer, and the colors in the set are very realistic. So the final work on Kamaz is close! I remembered about my summer crafts and those who closely follow my zen channel are aware that I have collected models of T-34 and T-35 tanks in 72 scale, so it's time to paint them and generally finish working with them. In the last issue, I hinted to the guys from Kostroma that it would be time to release a model of GAZ-53 trucks. As soon as they fulfilled my request – AVD released gaziki. – a whole scattering of lawns, but so far in the form of trucks with special add-ons.

I liked the fire tank and the gas carrier. By the way, they just arrived to me, so I'll start building them soon. Modelers are again not satisfied with the models from Zvezda. This time the public was upset by the announcement of the T-72B3 tank model in 72nd scale. In their catalog for 2022, the guys from Lobnya showed a photo of the latest version of the T-72 model of 2016. And the future model depicts a 2011 revision car. But as they say in Russia – your expectations – your problems. And I will also collect the model of the T-72B3 tank in 35th scale . I'm afraid that the model promises to be very controversial and will cause dissatisfaction with some part of the population.

And on this model, native advertising of the brand of women's underwear will flaunt . I hope you get the hint. So, I told you the most important news of the world of modeling, and we went to look further at the work on the Ka-50 helicopter. And I'll work on some oil to give the helicopter life and make it less boring. First, I apply oil dots and then blend them with a brush dipped in white spirit. I do the same with the screw. And this is the helicopter I got! I placed it in a transparent box with a wooden base and now the model looks like a real museum piece. Hope you enjoyed the video. See you in the next video, bye bye..
