It's Saturday 3rd September and it's our second day of the fair and we 've decided to visit a few stands in the accessories section for the day. There are special stands where we also use the products and I would like to report on that. Welcome to my report. As a man, I am of course primarily interested in the technical things, but there is also something for the women, namely the interior design or the seat covers. I would like to tell you more about this today. First we went to the booth of the Denner company. We found these products, namely the Oyster 5 satellite antenna and also the Oyster Connect for Internet and WLAN. There are always questions about this. I keep getting questions from campers: Are you happy with it? How does it work? And so I took the opportunity to talk to the one expert here at the trade fair who is here at the stand.
Or to ask the. And let's listen now. So, I'm standing here at the Tenner company's stand and in front of me is Mr. Is that correct? That's right. Yes. Are you responsible for what in the company? On the one hand, I work on development and am always allowed to work on our exciting new products. Furthermore, I also do the training courses in-house because we already do our best to help our dealers every winter when the dealers have a little less to do. And I still have umpteen other tasks, all of which I enjoy doing. Yes, one of the newer products is Oyster Connect. Exactly. I've been using this for a year now. It works fine for me, I did an update and everything is fine. Tell us a little bit about how this works or where the strengths of this device are. So the Oyster Connect was developed by us from the 1st stroke of the brush to the effect that it is by far the strongest product on the market and, above all , is specially designed for the requirements of campers.
Because having an internet connection in the first place is far more important than having a fantastic maximum surfing speed, right? And that's why we chose a different way of doing this than the others on the market. With us, all the technology you need to set up a radio connection with external networks, be it the WLAN or the LTE network, is right up here, directly in the antenna. One could speak of an active antenna. And this special concept gives us the opportunity to largely do without the use of lossy antenna cables in the system. With every meter of antenna cable with a passive antenna and the actual router plugged in , you inevitably make your signal worse.
That's physics. This cannot be tricked or avoided. Since the antenna cables in the media area are only long with us. Practically straight from the antenna into the chip that processes it , we get by with 0.0 losses. And that combined with an optimally designed antenna that works perfectly, we simply have the best range of any system on the market. This is a fact that you are welcome to prove at any time. And the same applies to both LTE connections and WiFi connections. For example, in our own tests we were able to set up a WLAN connection at over 1000 meters in the traffic area and still achieved decent data throughput. This is really unique. Yes, that all sounds good! Now there's the question of the SIM card, which then has to be used on top of the roof. Yes, I explained that to you earlier. I solved it by looking for a contract with a provider, Vodafone, and then putting the second card in the box at the top and not taking it out again.
It works that she's always in. That might be a good prerequisite, I think, so that we don't have to keep crawling onto the roof and changing the SIM card. So the solution that you have chosen with one, I would say multi-sim, is definitely the best, also from a financial point of view, because you hardly have any additional costs if you make your own contract for the Oyster Connect , you pay twelve months in year a mobile phone contract, which they may only use three months a year. And with a second card, the additional costs you have there are really very manageable.
So very well done. Yes, the next thing is that the SIM card has to be on top, because the LTE module is on top in order to have the advantages mentioned. Unfortunately, the SIM card and the LTE module cannot be physically separated from each other, otherwise we would of course have liked to do it that way. But unfortunately it is not possible. They should be placed within a few centimeters of each other. So the SIM card is in there. But unfortunately there is no other way to get all the advantages I have already mentioned. We encourage our customers to always leave the SIM card in under all circumstances. As a rule, I would say that German customers have a German SIM card that they can use anywhere in Europe thanks to the EU roaming agreement without incurring any additional costs. So it doesn't make any sense to take a different SIM card immediately when crossing the border, because you already have your data volume with you and can use it anywhere.
The main advantage but even if you leave the sim card in, the German sim card now no matter where in the world you are, you always have a German IP address on the Internet. The address is like a kind of telephone number under which you can be reached on the internet. And when you call up a website, the website recognizes which country the caller is from, for example based on the IP address. For example, it goes to a website that can be reached from anywhere in the world.
I have Vodafone, DE or something else, depending on which machine IP address you have with them the page still displayed that language or that language or that language. And streaming services also react very directly when an IP address comes from abroad. The ARD or ZDF media library will always provide you with all content with a German address. With a non-German IP address, however , you will no longer be able to see 40 to 60% of the programs.
That is the point. As long as the German SIM card stays on top, no matter where you are on vacation, it always works wonderfully without any problems. Other SIM cards that you bought in the holiday country deny you access. Then other things come about, like online banking, which may also be difficult. With foreign IP address Here at the fair in this hall alone there are over 140 WLAN networks that the system sees. Handy are not even 1/4 of it. That is now via the Oyster Connect connection, the WiFi. Exactly what the audio unit on the vehicle receives.
You see that a hotspot is open wifi. I'm just guessing. Then the Connect first switches to voter mode. Right? Connects to this WiFi network. Since it runs down that always the same IP addresses appear. And so forth. It all takes a few seconds. Of course, it also depends on network usage. Yes, that's how it is at the moment. You just have to wait and see the time now. The great thing is that the Oyster Connect was developed for a camper. That's why we also thought about the fact that the Oyster Connect can deal with such circumstances.
So, and it is not forwarded automatically. For example, you can confirm the terms and conditions at the campsite or enter the voucher code. This is for a Düsseldorf trade fair. If you see that, yes it works. That was exactly my question too. And yes, that's great that it works. We're not online now because I don't have access to this free WiFi. No, I'm just going back to LTE. So connect Zack and now again with LTE Online. OK. Here I always have the opportunity to make an update. Yes, exactly. And that's always the story up here. It's in System Setup. But now we have something new. You should really like that. Yes. I can show you right here. Yeah, of course. If you switch on the system and already have the latest software on it, the system now checks whether new software is available.
What if she notices? Ten minutes after turning it on, the yellow LED here will light up solid, and then when it's on solid, just press the button here for ten seconds. Yes, and then the update will start all by itself. And you don't have to do anything else. So that means I don't need my iPad or whatever, I just press the button and it does the same thing. Exactly. You stay on the button until the LEDs practically start to pump slowly. Just do it slowly and then start and walk after drinking coffee, seven, eight minutes later it's done. Thanks. Yes, thank you for your comments. With pleasure. Nice to meet you here. Thanks. All mine. That was a lot of technology maybe not so interesting for the ladies. Now it's about design, now it's about interior design. Now it's about upholstery, reupholstery or upholstery for a new mobile home. And here we are at the stand of the Rühl company and let us show and explain a little bit. We are here at the Rühl Automotive stand.
Is that right? Yes that's right. Many probably still know us as Rühl Leder GmbH. He hasn't changed much either. We continue to make leather, but have expanded our range and our area of responsibility and now offer aerodynamic kits and automotive quality for mobile homes. And we want to introduce that briefly. Yes okay you have here, I think this is a Fiat Ducato. Exactly. We have a completely new front corner with LED daytime running lights, with new LED fog lights that are square, which gives the vehicle a new and new appearance, which looks a bit sportier, but still retains a slight off-road character . In the upper area we have elements with four lights, which is helpful.
Maybe at the campsite, when we arrive at night, have to light up or are out and about in the country, abroad, somewhere in the desert, wherever you are. As I said, in the main area we have, we'll get to that in a moment, a rear spoiler, also with two work lights. And I would say that we just go into the room. Yes gladly. Now we come to the interior area.
People there know us relatively well when it comes to leather. So we're actually number one in Germany. We continue to refine RVs for our customers and practically adapt what we do from the car sector into the RVs to introduce new techniques, designs, whatever for our customers. We have installed a starry sky here with 1400 stars, here where you can also change a lot of colors. We have developed an app control here, where the customer can then change colors individually. Constellations, shooting stars.
So all this stuff. Of course, we also have our hobby horse, of course, the leather of the seats, we have the Alcantara here. We have small add-on parts in the interior like armrests. Yes, we can color change plastic parts and carbon steering wheel with Alcantara. So here nothing is left to be desired. Every customer can practically let his wishes and ideas run free here. Wonderful. We changed a few small things in the dashboard area , yes, we got rid of the plastic a bit and it's a bit more comfortable. We have the glove box lid in the case in Alcantara with a cross-stitched seam and an orange tip. We made the speedometer horn in the same design. We make the switch, the lower center console is also completely in Alcantara here. We also have a carbon sport steering wheel with Alcantara side indents with an orange 12 o'clock marker.
Furthermore, as a highlight , you can also make the orange seat belts here. Which is again such a small delicacy. Yes. Nice. Oh yes, you build that too. We build that too. We developed that together with lighting and that's always a little highlight for outdoors. yes beautiful Oh yes, the starry sky, it's nice to see here. Here you can see it again, it is in two parts.
You can use it for the bedroom or for the living area, but also completely. Depending on the customer's request, we can then display it like this. And it doesn't matter what kind of motorhome it is, what brand, what size, we can adapt it to any motorhome. Okay, so now for a moment. Where are you found? You can find us in Mülheim an der Ruhr, in the middle of the Ruhr area between Essen, Düsseldorf and Duisburg. Directly at the Kaiser Berg motorway junction. And we look forward to you visiting us. Then you can get a few more ideas and we would show you something else and recommend many things.
Thank you! Thanks! Of course, there are many different ways to have your vehicle equipped accordingly. It doesn't matter whether it's a small mobile home or something bigger or really big. The Röhrl company is very innovative, so let's talk to Stephan Rühl and he'll show us a few things. This is Herr Rühl, Stephan Rühl. He's the head of the company there and he's introducing us to this seat here and showing us a little bit. Yes, have a nice good day. So here we have a Citroen C4 seat that we did in engineering with a new style, with a new design. And the very special thing about it is that we first made a seat with iridescent seams here from dark to light or the other way around from light to dark and with iridescent sticks.
Here the sticks are white, up here they are blue. Now we can even make every single piece different. As also shown here, from light to dark, from green to blue, as the customer would like it to be in the end. Looks nice. And on top of that, if we put a logo in up here, we can bring in an iridescent logo. We have various examples of this. You are welcome to visit us in the future. Okay thank you very much. We visited other stands this Saturday, but more on that in the next video, there will be a video of me at the Düsseldorf trade fair and that will be the end of it. Thanks again for watching and bye bye until next time.
