Welcome one more week to Canal Ateca. In this second video about "detailing" we are going to test this paint decontamination kit, made up of these two products: the IronX, which is for iron decontamination of the Carpro brand and which is accompanied by a sprayer and then the Claybar. The 100 gram soft Claybar to remove other types of contamination. But since for this process we need the car to be clean, I have also taken advantage of this video to buy another Premium hand wash kit, which in this case is made up of this glove with lamb's wool, also from the Carpro brand. This soap from the Labocosmética brand. His name is Semper. It is a highly concentrated neutral soap with high lubricating power, but it does not have protection. When I say that it does not have protection, it means that it does not have any type of product to repel water. There are other other soaps of the same brand that do have it, but they are much less concentrated. With a cap of this we will have enough to wash an entire car. And finally, this hand cleaning kit comes with this microfiber drying towel.
For the washing I am going to use a pressurized water gun, which I have around here at home, and then we are going to use two buckets. I am going to use this red with clean water to rinse the glove and in this white 5-liter bucket we are going to put the soap. As I mentioned before , a 5-litre cap is enough as long as the car is not particularly dirty. If it is very dirty we can use two plugs.
Now I have only filled half the bucket because now with the force of the water what we will do is make foam. Well after passing the hose we can start cleaning. We will use the glove as I have mentioned in the soapy water and clean. We will start at the top so that the dirt goes down. If we start here and then do the upper part, the dirt can fall back on the lower part. When the glove is quite dirty, we will rinse it with clean water that I have here in the red bucket. And now we pass the pressurized water gun again to clarify it. We have already clarified and now it is time to dry with the microfiber drying towel.
We extend this like this and stretch. And it dries perfectly. Well, the car is now clean and ready for decontamination. Now all that remains is for it not to rain. Let's see if we have luck. Well let's start the decontamination with the IronX. It is the iron contamination that we are going to remove first. Let's see, in this car, since it's very dark, I don't know if you can see it, but I see some dots, which later, when we apply the product, we'll see if it really is iron contamination or not. Those little dots usually appear in transport, when cars come by train or if we park near a subway or train line.
In other words, all the iron particles that come off the catenary stick to the paint and are very difficult to remove. They don't come off with a normal wash. Well, we are going to apply this product dry, we have already dried the car. I warn you that this product smells quite bad. Then you have to throw the product away and let it act for about 8 or 9 minutes. Look, they do look. Do you see these stains? That is the iron, which is dissolving. It looks pretty. Now we let it act for a few minutes and then we clear it with the gun. Look at all the crap that comes out. This is iron contamination. Incredible. It's still leaking around here.
Well let's go now with the other part of the decontamination, with the Claybar, which is this mass of clay. This one in particular is 100 grams and is the soft one. There are different types of Claybar. This is the softest. With this there is no danger of scratching the car. What you do have to take into account is that if you have any protection in the car. I prefer protection for the rain. If it is ceramic there is no problem. But if you have it with wax, this operation can remove the wax, so I recommend that if you have this type of protection, do it when it reaches the end of its useful life, which is a few months. So what the manufacturer recommends is to cut a piece. It's like hard plasticine, like chewing gum.
And then smash it like this. And this is what we're going to use to clean up this contamination. When one face gets dirty , we turn the other over and then we can knead again and generate clean faces. When we see that the faces that are generated are dirty, we can take another piece. This is applied wet. I have now rinsed the IronX with the pressurized water gun, but since there is a little air, it is drying. So for this I have a pressure sprayer here to wet it and not have problems. Let's go there. This must be used in several directions, because what does not go in one direction will go in another.
What they recommend is, for example, to do it horizontally. Then vertically. Diagonal. You will notice the degree of contamination in how the Claybar slides. At first you will see that it scratches a little, but after a few passes it is already smooth. I don't know if it shows, but some dirt comes off. I have not commented on this, but this is only for the painting. Don't you dare pass this on the glass. Well, it has been perfect. It is not obvious that it is the first time that I wash the car by hand. Until now I had normally used a car wash. Sometimes, with pressurized water and only drying by hand. But it is the first time that I use soap to wash the car and also obviously the decontaminated one. Well, I think that from now on I'm going to do it like this, this way. It takes a little more work but the truth is the result is impressive. Well, here's today's video. See you next week. Bye..
