RC CAR CUSTOM SAND TIRES DRIVE ON WATER CHALLENGE!

– Welcome back to Carla and Jinger. We have customized four sand cars that we're going to try and
drive on top of the water. (energetic music) – Oh! Oh no! – Go get em! Go beat him! – There's smoke coming out of this thing, there's smoke! We've done this before and gotten millions of views off of this, but
we're going to double down with four different designs
and see who can drive on the water and the sand the best today. Are you guys ready? – Oh yeah, let's do it! – All right let's do it! All of us back in the house
have been working really hard for the last two days, trying to come up with different designs so
that we can outdo each other. Here's what we did. This RC truck might be
familiar to you guys from a recent video where I
actually put magnesium strips on these drifted tires and got it to shoot sparks
off in the driveway. If you haven't seen that video you guys got to go check that out. Today, I'm going to go full reverse, and instead of making it
shootout sparks, I'm going to try and make this thing drive
on the sand and the water.

What I want to do is
take this grinding wheel and we're going to cut some notches in these and create some flaps that come up exactly like paddle tires. When I'm done with this thing,
it's going to be a beast on the sand dunes, but I'm a
little bit worried about it. It's so freaking heavy that it's going to have metal paddle tires not exactly the most buoyant
floating thing out there.

So we're going to have to go for top speed and total traction to try and hydroplane across the
surface to win this thing. It's the next morning you guys. And I think we did it look at these tires. Oh my gosh. These are the original drift wheels. I put them on different because
I was dumb and in a hurry. It was freezing cold out here. I clamped this one and I
cut it actually backwards.

So it's on there the
wrong way, but who cares? Right? I'm going to be able
to put the shell on like this, and then I don't have any way
to keep it floating really. So I don't know. Maybe I'll figure out
some way to strap this cute little baby crab vest around here, just so it doesn't completely swamp, but I think this is ready to load up and take it to the beach. – Me and Kyle are on the same team and he is already going,
Kyle, what are you up to here? – I just took the tires off, but you have the job of spray
painting these a new color.

– Oh yeah. Yeah. Okay. I can do that. What color wheels should we do? – We should do like, lime green. – All right, let's do it. Okay. We did a fresh coat on
the rims, a nice blue color. And then we're going to hit the outside with this bright green. We even have an older shell
that we used for another video. That's going to match perfectly with this. It's like a really bright neon color.

So it's great for what we're going for. All right, Kyle, what do you think so far? I think that green is perfect. – Yeah, it looks really good. Okay. So the wheels are almost done, we just gotta spray paint this last one, – And let them dry. – And let them dry and
put them onto the car. There we go. – You little RC pro. Kyle is an RC champ. He's learning to do all the repairs on these RC cars, he
loves to customize them. So that's why I like to recruit Kyle to be on my team because – we like to win! – For my idea, I'm using
Zippy's drift car tires, but, I'm not just leaving him plain.

I have this Tupperware right here that I have cut out strips of, and basically it's like
a hard plastic, you know, almost like a bucket. And my idea is to cut out strips and put them on the tires with tape. – You better not show me your idea, – Whoa, whoa! – Or I'm gonna steal it! – No you're not! I put the strips on the
Tupperware onto my drift tires, and basically it will create some traction almost like paddle tires, but they're a little more flexible, and they can still go really fast on sand. All right. I have my plastic cutout. And I think it's just time to hot glue and tape these onto my tire
and we'll see how it turns out.

All right, check it out. We got the drift paddle
tires on Zippy the RC car, check it out. I think it looks pretty cool. It kind of matches the tread
of the paint and everything. I'm excited to see how it looks in the sand and how it works. Hopefully it can go on water. – Look at this monster that I created. I've added pool noodles
to the front tires, and these things are
going to keep our RC car buoyant in the water and
they'll help us turn and stuff.

Then on the back here, you can
see I've strapped these Nerf bullets that I've cut the head off of. The bottom of the RC car is done. It's pretty simple, I just have cut up a yellow
pool noodle, and like cut it in half and tapered it and
stuff so that it's more aerodynamic in the water. I think it's going to work
pretty well, but I'm not sure how buoyant this thing is. Last thing we need to do is
cut up the RC car shell so that it can fit the tires and they'll be able to spin
freely without any problems or anything like that. So we're gonna work on cutting this up and give some room to the tires. (excitement sound) I think my car is finished. Real quick though, to test it we're going to throw this
thing on the water in the pool, see if it floats and is
able to hold itself up. Carefully, gently. (clapping) Haha yes! It totally works! And those things can be driving around.

Okay, okay, we're going to
bring this out of the water. This thing totally works. So I think I'm going
to win this challenge. I'm ready to go. This is going to be
some stiff competition. These are some cool looking cars. Look at this! – That looks awesome! – What have you guys done? – We went with the
traditional paddle tires, Kyle and I decided that this
X max is our favorite car, so we want to have customized
the color and the look, but really, we knew that these paddle tires
could go on water and sand, and so we went with the
traditional paddle tires. – This is tried and true. You guys know this one has worked. It could probably drive
clear across this entire lake if you keep it straight. So, cool paint job you guys, awesome paddle tires, four wheel drive. I don't know, who's
going to be the driver? – Kyle! – Oh I am! I am! – If we needed a license to drive an RC car, I definitely
wouldn't have one, Kyle would.

– Kyle's like a pro, right? – So he is our team driver today. – I think it looks awesome you guys, if you guys think that
Jinger and Kyle's car is going to go the farthest
on the sand and the water, vote down in the comments below. I spend so much time like trying to help everybody
on their projects and stuff, I think mine is not very buoyant. Look at this. – I don't know. Those are cool! – Those are modified paddle
tires though, that's cool! – I might win in the sand
today, but I don't know. You might not want to vote for me going across the
lake, but we'll find out.

Look at Zippy! – Oh yeah, check this out. – That's cool. – I got, I used like a container
and cut out these slits and made awesome, like
portal looking, paddle tires. Hopefully they work. I think they work in the
sand, but I don't know, they might work better in the water. – Zippy is definitely a fan favorite too. That's awesome. – And as you can see,
I've pretty much gone completely just modifying
this thing, like crazy. I've cut up and diced up the
whole case and everything.

– You cut the shelf! – I know! – You cut the shelf! – I gave it Baja tires. I like to call this thing the boundless all road,
remote controlled car. (laughter) Also known as BARK. – First things first, let's put them to the test in the sand. – First up is Zippy with Luke! Luke are you ready for your sand trial? – I am so ready to see
how this works! Ready? – I think it's going to do
really good kid, I'm excited. There he goes! (cheering) Holy smokes! Look at that! Whoa! I think we should wait,
let's not wreck it. – Okay. – Next up is Gage! Are you ready Gage? – I mean, I guess so. I didn't really build it to go on the sand so I don't know
how it's going to fair.

– Yeah you did. – Come on! – Yeah I did. – It's going to go on the sand right now. – It's going to go fine. – I'm excited. Let's see how it goes. – Oh dear. – Come on. Come on BARK! You're
supposed to be all terrain! – Gage is it not working? – What is going on? Are you rubbing into anything? – No. – Give it a little push start. – No, it's just stuck in the sand. It's not going fast enough. – Um, that is a fail! – Wait, is it, – Do you not have decent batteries? – I mean it goes, oh man! – Is the front wheel
drive broken on this car? – I don't know. – Oh no, Gage. You may have picked a car
that was broken to begin with. – No! – Did you test it? – Yeah, no, did I? I don't remember. – Oh no! Gage, no! – I have faith that it might
work in the water still, it's rear wheel drive
right now, I don't know.

Carl, what do you think? – Maybe we'll just drop it in like a motor boat and it'll work. – This is normally a four
by four truck and it's supposed to have four wheel
drive and this thing should be screaming, but he didn't
check to make sure the truck wasn't broken – No. – before he designed it so. – Crap! – Hopefully he does
better in the water round. – What did you just say, Kyle? – Well, that's actually
a two wheel drive truck, he just put the wrong shell on it. – Oh! Gage! – I see. – You should have consulted the pro! – Crap! (laughter) I should have talked to you first. You know all about this stuff. – So he built a big four by four design around a little wimpy
two wheel drive truck. – Fail! – Too bad. – Kyle you are up with our
screaming X max, oh yeah. Are you excited? – Yeah, I think it's
going to do really well because these are the
traditional paddle tires.

So I think it's going to
go right across the sand. (energetic music) – Woo! – Oh! That's going real fast! – Keep going Kyle! Man,
that is made for the sand, look at it! (cheering) – This is awesome! – That was awesome Kyle! – Man! – Good job, dude! I think it's going to
smoke on the water, man. It looks really cool. You ready for that? – Oh yeah. – Let's do it. – All right, next up is the Kraton with the crazy metal tires. Karl, are you ready to roost? – Oh yeah! It's going to
do awesome. Here we go! You guys ready? – Okay, let's do it! (energetic music) – That's awesome! – It's actually working! It
doesn't turn that great, but – It definitely has power,
that's awesome! Wow! Whoa! Pancake! – Okay.

Let's save it for the lake. All right, next up we're going to see if we can hydroplane across
the surface of the water. All right, here we go. You guys ready? Oh my gosh! Let's see. Here we go. I got to get a straight shot. Three, two, one, go! (energetic music) – Oh! Oh no! Oh no! Come on, come on, yeah! – Okay! Oh man! – It made it, kind of! That was crazy! – I swamped it like crazy
and it barely got out. My mud flaps are completely folded back. This thing is not made
for the water you guys, but I didn't sink it all
the way to the bottom, I was able to skip. – That was a miracle. – Oh okay! Another GoPro bites the dust. I don't know if you
can see that on camera, there's a hairline crack flying right through the back of that screen.

These are brand new. They say these things are – We go through them so
often with RC cars, man, – At least four or five a
year, we smash these things. GoPro should sponsor us or someone that can make a better camera. Jeez. – Zippy looks like a little
dot in the sand up there. Luke's ready, and we are ready
to go for this next shoot. – Okay Luke, let's see what you got. – Ready, set, go! – Full speed! Full speed! Go Zippy, go! – Oh no! Oh no! Sunk! Sunk! – Zippy, no! – You can see his tires
turning at the top. (groaning) – Oh! Whoa! – Oh man. – Poor Zippy! – Please take the arm! Are you okay? – Is it working still? See if it'll watch your fingers. – Yeah! – Zippy's still alive, but I don't know, did it make it as far as the Kraton even? – I don't think so. – It didn't make it as far as the Kraton. – That means I'm still in first place. You guys have got to knock
me off the leaderboard.

– All right, next up is
Gage. Are you ready, Gage? – Oh yeah, I'm ready. – Let's see what you do little car. Okay. Go for it Gage. – Come on BARK, you got
this, all BARK no bite. Come on. – Here he goes. – Hold on, hold on, he
needs a little bit of help. – Give him a little
nudge, get into the water. – Go. – You need to get him going. – Go! – Get him floating. (cheering) – His front tires aren't moving anymore. – Oh yeah, it's not even spinning around. – It's going though! – Look he's going! There he goes! Come on, go, go, go! Go! It's kind of going! – It goes better in the
water than it does on land! – Look at him, it's not
turning, it doesn't turn. It doesn't really – Wait, is that smoke? – What? – Holy crap, there's
smoke coming out of it. – There's smoke coming out of this thing! There's smoke. – Okay, we better unplug the battery. – Yeah, I'm gonna unplug
the battery real quick. – Okay, Gage. – Nope. Fail. – I think it is an awesome design, but a few major design
oversights and flaws, you guys.

That was pretty crazy. Next up, we've got
Jinger and Kyle's truck. This thing is going to be crazy. I'm actually going to bust
the drone out for this one, cause I think we're going
to make it probably clear over to that island way out there. – Let's do it. You ready Karl? – I'm going, this is going to be awesome! – All right, Kyle, you ready? – Yeah! – Keep it straight and don't let up! – Okay! Three, two, one, go! (energetic music) – Go go go go go go! Get it Gage! Woo! – That water's so cold! – Kyle what happened? – I think I didn't go fast enough.

– Okay. Hit it this time, rip
it, and don't let off man! – Okay! – Three, two, one, go! (energetic music) – Oh no! Okay, we're gonna try
this one more time, Kyle. – That was crazy! – That was far though! – I think the water's just a
little bit too choppy today, don't you think? – I think so. – That did awesome, I think it definitely made it the farthest. – That was crazy though. That went quite a bit farther than I actually thought it would go. – It went clear out there, about halfway to the island. But I think it definitely
took first place. – That was so awesome! – Kyle, that was so awesome! You definitely take first place man. – We crushed it! – Yeah, we crushed it. – Good job with the paint job! – Yeah yeah! Good job driving, man! – I think that size and speed
totally mattered in this one. The X max and the Kraton I think probably what the farthest right? – Yeah, totally! – But on the sand, I
dunno, you guys let us know down in the comments below which one of these RC car custom sand
tires and water paddle tires you thought did the best
and make sure to check out all the other videos on the screen.

You're going to love them, and we'll see you in the next one. – Bye! (energetic music).
